Followed the South Colony trail to its end (~5.5 miles) and made camp at 11k feet. Snow shoes were necessary after the upper trail head. The next morning we started late(10-10:30) and blazed a route west of the southeast flank gully. We used snow shoes up the 30-40 degree slopes until we past the tree line. Past the tree line, the mountain was relatively dry and we climbed the scree to the peak and summited at 3:30pm. We followed the west trail down. There was a lot of postholing required while descending from the lower lake to camp. We arrived back at camp around 6:20pm. After resting we headed back to our car. It took us under 3 hours to descend back to the lowest trailhead(5.5 miles), arriving around 10:20PM.
