Traction would have been nice in the morning but not a necessity. Beautiful blue bird day, it was nice to be able to sit on the summit and enjoy lunch rather than trying not to freeze. 7 hours for Belford and Oxford, saddle back to Belford was a little slick but you could rock step to avoid slick spots. Great day overall.

How much snow is between Belford and Oxford? Any pics by chance? Thanks!

There was alright boot pack most places as you climbed out of either side of the saddle, a good amount of snow on the S side of Belford's east ridge and the N side wasn't bad, I just scrambled a bit. The snow wasnt very deep, i think was the only person i saw with gaitors on. Sorry, no pictures.

how was the snow gully on Belford?     2012-04-22 15:52:47
It is to the left of the hikers trail going up. Any snow left there?

Are you referring to the gully to the left of the NW ridge during the Belford ascent at like 11,900? If so the snow the looked alright, I don't know if it was skiable but there was enough snow to catch my eye on our way down.
