Were you able to ski from the summit? Also, were you able to ski back to the parking lot or was the gully melted out?

No, did not ski

There was sufficient snow to ski much of the way, but I managed only 100 yards or so. The Colouir would have been the best bet but the snow wasn't the greatest as it was a bit crusty in there. So I opted to descend to the saddle between Greys and Torreys and try that but that was worse. So I descended further over onto Greys and try to ski from there but the snow was bullet proof so I ended up carrying the skis all the way back out. I don't think skiing all the way from the summit to the lot is an option as the snow field up in the basin peters out before connecting with the lower snow below the trail, but there was visible snow that went a long ways still below the trail. I don't have a good report on that as I followed the trail out but one could have skiid further down if the snow had been softer.

I am going to try and bring some friends without microspikes or ice axes to attempt both peaks, do you think it is possible?

Yes, but

Yes. I descended all the way from Torrey's summit to the TH without spikes and I suspect Grey's would be doable as well. It was cold on Sunday though so if it warms up there could be postholing to contend with.

Yes, I think you will be fine without axes or traction devices. There will be 2 more weeks of melting before the 28th.
