Buckskin Creek TH-easy to get to in my little Chevy Aveo
No special gear, poles are nice though
The trail is clear of all snow and the ridge between Loveland and Buckskin is easy to follow. Came down the Northeast Slopes and hiked on the Kite Lake road to the car.
The most difficult part of this climb is just after crossing Buckskin Creek when looking to gain the East Ridge of Loveland Mountain. It was not .4 miles west up a grassy slope, but .4 miles of glorious bushwacking.
I was fortunate to see a herd of at least 20 elk, and 5 deer on this short scenic hike. I also found myself in in the path of some HUGE spiders, like bigger than a quarter. They were black and white with some red near the underbelly.
It has been pretty cool to look at the summit register and recognize people from this website and see what they have to comment. A person with the name B. Thom wrote, "I eat marmots", lol, but my favorite is from globreal, "God is good", I saw this on Hope also, hard to disagree.
