I carried ax and crampons the whole day for nought . I climbed from Kilpacker and returned via the gully where the traverse joins the standard route. It is messy with some snow but very doable and better than the alternatives.

We did the traverse yesterday as well. From Navajo Basin. There was snow on the north face of El Diente we needed axe and crampons for but the traverse was dry. Interesting how we choose Pyramid and the Wilsons both on the same days!

That is strange!

I almost went down that way but the couloir I took looked doable and saved me a lot of time.
