Trail was dry up to the 1.5 mile info sign. About 1-2" of snow covered the trail all the way up to the saddle and Grays Summit. Conditions icy in several areas especially as the day wore on. Didn't get to Torreys but looked icy in spots as well. Bring micro-spikes or yak trax to assist with traction on the trail especially going down.
i went up from the saddle, around the hump before the summit or false summit, whatever you want to call it, would be a little challenging for some as its steep and the snow was getting slick from usage. that combined with the strong winds didnt make for a very enjoyable summit push.
no traction devices required, would have been nice in some sections but overall not needed. most people were doing it with sneakers.
