West slopes are bare for the most part. Some signs of activity though (some debri/slide/talus activity). Trouble will be getting there. Lots of recent slide activity on the north facing slopes (which are loaded) near the Colorado Trail --- which make a west slope approach more palatable given the avy concerns of late. However, once at the pass (c. 12,300 ft), the decent to the base of the west slopes is filled with 1-2 ft of mostly consolidated snow above treeline and 1-3 ft (possibly more) of loose snow below treeline. Deadfall is also an issue once below treeline, but that may have been due to route finding issues. We made it as far as ~11,500 ft before turning around and attempting a nearby 13er.
