Snowshoes very helpful from just past the Iowa Mill...until the "nipple". I was breaking through to my knees even when following the snowmobile and skin tracks. Kept the snowshoes on past the nipple...all the way to the windblown ridge line... just because the heel lifts on the shoes made a direct line easier. Stashed the snowshoes and switched to microspikes which were nice to have on the harder snow patches along the ridge.
