Used microspikes until well over 12K feet, then snow shoes. No recent tracks to follow. Def needed snowshoes on return - slushy snow with 70 degree temps below 12K feet in afternoon. We were only ones on Grays, had summit to ourselves. Barely any wind at the top. Great day! Add 6mi round trip as road from Bakerville to TH impassable from start. However, whole trip 11.9mi round trip, took more direct path up (rather than long switch backs) once on face of Grays. |
