Muddy and sloppy. There is still some snow in spots along the boardwalk in the willows but it's melting fast. Follow the trail along the creek upstream about 100 yards and there's an easy skip across. No need to go wading. Lots of snow still on the last couple hundred feet. We were there late in the morning and hikers were sinking in up to their rears. It's melting quickly but will still be a difficult climb for the rest of the week. Several without the proper gear turned back at these last snow fields. Be prepared and you can make the summit.

Required gear?

Good morning! You mentioned proper gear, what exactly are you talking about? The next time I try this I don’t want to find out halfway up that I don’t have the proper gear! Also, the "skip" across the river, I must have missed that because I couldn’t find an area where you could do that only an area where there were two rocks facing each other that you had to jump across from one and grab onto the other and then jump onto the bank. I was going to hold off until mid to late July to try this again, but maybe with your helpful input I won’t have to wait that long! Thank you so much!

Skip?

I’d also like to know where this "skip" was.... Didn’t see anything my 5’2" body frame could skip across. I waded across.
