Hiked Evans from Guanella Pass on Monday. Wore trailrunners and used trekking poles. The willows were a sloppy, muddy mess - as expected. The gully is in decent shape (no snow), just be sure to cross over to the climber's left about halfway up. There are cairns on both sides and I stayed on the right - big mistake. I made it go, but it's a lot more work than going up climber's left. There is some snow from the top of the gully to the summit, but it's not very deep. On the traverse of the ridge, just watch your step - there was some frozen snow melt on the rocks early in the morning that caught me by surprise a couple of times.

How long did it take you to summit? I’m thinking of doing this route on Thursday 6–25. Gotta work at 5pm, just trying to figure on how early to leave. THANKS!

Took me 4 hrs up and 3 hrs down. I’m not a speedster, went up the right side of the gully instead of the easier/more direct left side, and it was my 3rd 14er in 3 days...so draw whatever conclusions you can from that. Good luck and enjoy your climb.
