Trail is nearly dry all the way to the summit. Only two small snow fields remaining. We carried traction and an axe but didn't use either. We hit both on the ascent around 745 and 800 am respectively. At that point they were both still solid but could be easily navigated with poles and some care. On the way down they were soft enough to easily walk across without much thought. If you are up there super early they may be icy enough for an axe. Other than that its totally dry to the top. Summer has arrived.

We are going up Princeton later this week and have been watching the trip reports for trail conditions.
Is the road dry up past the towers?
Thanks again for the update.

Past the towers. There was one snowbank maybe half a mile below the turn off for the trail but it is melting quickly and I would think you could maneuver past it. I got my impreza outback sport up there with a little bit of work. Anything with a tad more clearance and you wont have any problems. Good luck on the hike!

I have a Honda Pilot that has pretty good clearance and has been working the the 14er roads pretty well.
Thanks for getting back to me.
Too bad about those climbers on Bierstad yesterday.
