No snow to worry about. I came up over Loveland Mountain and parked on Kite Lake Road near the building at 11,400 feet. The creek is still running high and fast and I resorted to fording with socks off. Above the creek it is possible to follow an old jeep road up to about 11,800, then grassy slopes from there up to Loveland. If you're content just doing an out-and-back rather than a loop hike, the creek crossing issue can be avoided by starting closer to Kite Lake. |
