We left Denver around 4 am to beat the crowds. Arrived at the trailhead around 6 am and were able to park right up front by the gate (there were about 8-10 other cars). Weather was perfect and we were at the old mineshaft right about the time the sunlight hit. Lots of wildflowers everywhere this time of year. It got to be pretty windy once we got above the old mineshaft. There are a couple of small snowfields - no big deal but they are a bit slippery so I would recommend poles. Rest of the hike was a breeze - made it to the summit a little before 8 am. It was windy up top but there is lots of space to sit and hang out.

We were down off the spine around 9:00 and there were a ton of people coming up at this point. Made it back down to the trailhead a little before 10 am. Great, easy hike!
