Amazing day to do San Luis. We parked at the Equity Mine. In the dark we missed the 4x4 road. It is just below the mine on your left. Very obvious in the daylight.

We reached the main trailhead at 7:15 and finished at 2pm. It feels like a long ways back. Only a few inches of snow and no snow at around 12,600 (right before you start the true ascent up San Luis). Snow was easy to manage early in the morning, but stunk on the way home. Just very sloppy. No spikes, just water proof boots as of now.

Happy to be able to enjoy a peak so late in the year! We were hot and over prepared for cold weather.

Any info on the drivability of the access road to the TH? I only have a 2w. I'm not familiar with where equity Mine is located and saw on the 14er site there are two creek crossings.

Northeast ridge approach, Stewart Creek trailhead. I was just up there about 2 weeks ago.
The creek crossings are minimal, with concrete ramps, and there is not a lot of water this time of year, maybe a foot at most, so I would expect them to be passable in a car.
And because of the logging operations to remove beetle kill pines, the roads are being maintained.
However ... the last couple of miles before the trailhead are a little rough, and I would be a little concerned with a lower clearance vehicle.

You can park on the nice road

You can part at the Mine and the road is really nice. Just use the Google GPS with the 14ers app and that is where it takes you. The harder road is just short of the mine and might save a little time, but I'd probably avoid it with a car or lower clearance vehicle.
