Ascended from west side - Mayflower Gulch. Winter TH is accessible from 91, but not beyond. The road into the gulch is well-traveled and doesn't require snowshoes/traction. Ascended Mayflower Hill first (a variation listed in Roach's guide) via steep (at times), short bushwack. Descended from Mayflower Hill to the saddle at the beginning of Pacific's intriguing west ridge. Continued the trek around Pacific's northwest face to the Pacific-Crystal saddle. This section is holding plenty of snow, resulting in some amusing postholing opportunities. Didn't take snowshoes, but wished I had. You can get by without them, but it'd likely be a lot quicker with them. Crossed a few section with nearly bullet-proof snow - microspikes were used as needed and were greatly appreciated. Followed the north ridge to Pacific's summit and continued to Atlantic. Descended via Atlantic's somewhat narrow west ridge. A few interesting spots along the way with the addition of snow - ice axe highly recommended. Continued down some old tracks for awhile before crossing back to the slopes of Mayflower Hill and downward to cross the gulch to meet back up with the road. Postholing through this section was fairly miserable. Followed the road back to the TH.
