Below treeline, packed snow on the road. Snowshoes absolutely unnecessary. Above treeline, the road is most often bare, with some patches of snow here and there. Ascended Goliath and followed ridgeline to Rogers and Warren. Boots are sufficient, traction aids not needed. Very little snow. Descended Warren around mile marker 8 and followed the road out.

Anna, a question as to how you enjoyed the road as a winter walk? Without cars, did it feel like a trail with the same enjoyment or was there a detraction (because you were on a road)?

I went up Goliath and Rogers on the 18th. I did notice footprints occasionally. It was a beautiful day. I hope you had a nice hike. I didn't see anyone else once I got above the Mount Goliath visitor center.
