2014-07-02  West ridge via Willow Creek  Climbed Pt 13546, Mt Adams A, and Pt 13580A from Willow lake. The entire route was dry and wonderful. Serious mosquito clouds from the N Crestone trailhead all the way to the lake. DEET it up. benglish   2014-07-21  0     Edit Delete
2012-01-28  East Ridge via Horn Creek  Re-broke snow covered trench for first 3mi or so. From there broke new trail/trench up to 2nd creek crossing. East Ridge to PT13,325 has low avy danger if you stay on rocks/grass as much as possible. Small avy snow patch just below PT13,325. Adams E Ridge proper is in great condition. Couloir up to summit block looks very sketchy WRT avy danger right now. Recommend class 5 crack on NW corner to gain summit block. geojed   2012-01-30  0

2011-06-25  West ridge via Willow Creek  Very little snow on route and it was easily avoided. Left trailhead @ 5:45, arrived at Willow Lake @ 8:20. Kicked back for a few, had some snacks and left for summit. Reached summit @ 11:25, weather was spectacular. Hung out and relaxed on summit enjoying the awesome views. Followed the route as described by jdorje. Route description and photos are excellent. Thanks! Ground out the hike down Willow Creek trail and arrived back at the trailhead @ 2:30. sublime_719   2011-06-28  0     Edit Delete
2011-05-30  West ridge via Willow Creek  It is probably not worth bringing snowshoes for the few short sections of the route that they would help. There is some snow drifted over the rocky switchbacks just below Willow Lake and in the trees near and just above the lake. Past the lake above the steep grassy slope there is snow in the willows, in the flat areas of grass it was very wet. From the saddle toward Adams‘ summit the rock was dry, most of the patches of snow could be avoided easily. B-Thom   2011-05-31 1  1    Edit Delete
