|2015-06-27||Route: Slide lake circuit
Info: Ascended the ridge from the lake and then followed the ridge around Slide Lake and back to the road. Fun hike. I recommend it. Snow can be avoided but the mosquitos can not. They are horrific and followed me to 12500. Hardest part of the hike was dealing with them. Bring deet. Good luck.

Info: Parked at the bottom of Crane Park TH and took winter route up to the 10th mountain hut. Skin track was spotty and not ideal, but got better within a few miles. Perfect skin/snowshoe conditions up the ridge and a great descent in the chutes/bowls of the ridge. Descended down to Webster gravel pit and took the road back down to the car. Would highly recommend driving up that road (it‘s clear) and cutting of a few miles of up and down on the winter route out.

Info: Skied the east ridge via a slightly different approach route described before. Got some local beta from the 10th Mountain Hut caretaker as we were starting out (from the lower hut parking). There is parking at the upper lot for a few vehicles, but the road isn‘t plowed all that frequently, so beware. Overall, a good safe ski with only a few rocks to carefully slide through near the top. Only one or two meadow stomps on the way out, with a short ski carry up the road. Very windy & cold conditions near the top froze my hands and camera battery link More images/maps

Info: Fun Fun. Really liked this mountain! Snowmobilers laid an awesome track that I was able to follow for a good 2-2.5 miles. The track was most useful after Lily Lake when the tress open up and you‘re in a meadow overlooked by the objective at hand. After the meadow, tracks ended, trees started up again and I took charge. Descended a different route than I ascended (had to chase down my Alti mit liner!) Some might cringe at the little slope I went up on the ascent but it was east facing thus crunchy and not very deep. Could bypass this slope if you go right at the base of it and kind of wrap around it. That was the only avy concern of the day. The middle chute in pic 3 is what I went down. Would make a safe ski descent now. Just drove as far as I could on CR 19 where there was a parking lot.
