Status Update
From Clear Creek County‘s website:
After two years of being closed due to a landslide, we are happy to announce that Guanella Pass Road opened for traffic at the slide site above Clear Lake at noon (Mountain Time) today - Friday May 27.
Clear Creek County snow plows had been clearing the road over the summit all week. They have
gotten through, a bit narrow and few icy spots, but will be making more progress as the day goes on today.
With the exception of Monday, May 30, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) road construction project will continue with periodic road closures just above Georgetown on weekdays from 8:00am to 11:00am and 1:00pm to 3:00pm, and there will be nighttime closures Sundays through Thursday from 8pm to 6am. The FHWA road construction project is scheduled for
completion in September of 2011.

Incredible - I didn't think there was any way they could move all that snow in a week. Glad I was wrong!

Was on it today, is open all the way across. However, as noted above, there are construction closures during the day (8am-11am, 1pm-3pm). An after it was reopened after 3pm today I still had to wait 20 min for a pilot car.
