Trailhead Status | Kite Lake

Status Update
Road to Kite Lake still blocked by snowdrift as of Thurs, Jul 7th, although just barely and probably will open any day now. The road is blocked before reaching the area typically used for 'free camping'. Cars lined the roadway right up to the drift creating a long narrow single lane. People are just hiking in to trailhead from the closest point road is open.

looneydoug	How was the rest of the trail? 7/9/2011 2:15pm I'm taking my 13 year old up for his 7th, 8th & 9th 14ers. Just wanted to know how the rest of the trail conditions were?
jeffco970	RE: How was the rest of the trail? 7/9/2011 4:12pm Since unable to access camping area near Kite Lake, plus poor weather conditions, we changed plans and did not hike these peaks. Recent prior reports state the actual trails are open and there were some 20 cars along the road, so plenty of foot traffic up the trails already this summer.
