The road was in very good condition. I made it all the way up in my Toyota Corolla. Just have to be slow in patches where there are ruts. This road is much better than the road to Grays peak trailhead. If driving north on US-9 from Fairplay, just slow down when you reach Alma and keep looking for a Kite Lake roadsign on the left.
