Status Update
High Clearance vehicles can get by the creek crossing in the morning - but the question remains can you get out in the afternoon. I didn‘t push my luck with my stock Jeep 4d Wrangler, but one raised Tacoma made it across. The road, as noted previously, has much more damage than last year.

If you get past the creek crossing, the meadow about 1/4 mile past is as far as you‘ll get - avalance run-outs and other persistent snow blocks the road past that. No access to Pearl Pass Road now.

Heading up next weekend. Do you think it's best to just park at the river crossing no matter what kind of vehicle you have? Doesn't sound like you can get very far after the river anyway.

4Runner to 10760'

I was able to get my 4Runner to 10760' today for some 13ers in the area on the Castle Creek Road. You will need high clearance for sure to cross the stream. I was worried it would be swollen later in the day after a warm day, but it was still passable. There is a sizeable drift over an avy path farther up the road that was also passable in 4 low. No vehicles have been beyond the drift at 10760'. It may be a couple more weeks before this area is melted out as there are more drifts beyond.
