Trailhead Status | Grays Peak

Status Update
Follow up to polar‘s TH update... I was in a Honda sedan that made it to the Grays TH this AM. I‘ve never been on this road before so I can‘t say how it compares to previous, but I‘m assuming it has been worked on. A confident driver who goes slow and picks the right path will do fine in a 2WD sedan. We bottomed out once on the way up, once on the way down, but nothing too crazy.

Kelly M	Grays/Torreys 8/30/2014 1:10pm Thankfully my friend drove! Honestly, I'm not very experienced at driving crappy dirt roads so it probably would have been a different story had I driven.. That wasn't us, we were outta there before noon. How was the weather for your hike? It was very cloudy and cold on top of Grays for us, much better weather once we got to the summit of Torreys.
polar	Weather 8/30/2014 10:24pm The weather was ok up to when I felt static electricity building up around me. I came back down pretty quickly, but I only heard two thunderclaps and saw a little bit of graupel before the sun came out again. It didn't actually start raining until I started driving on I-25.
