May 4, 2005: The Barr Trailhead is open, but then again, it's nearly always accessible. Be careful parking here, though. The lot fills up quickly, and the people who run the Cog RR are really anal about parking, even when the Cog isn't running. They will tow you. If the main lot is full, your best bet will be to park way down the hill on Hydro street near some houses. If that area is full, you might have to park way down in Manitou.
