 Standard Routes

Driving 285 from Denver is quite pleasant early in the morning. I saw tons of Elk at some lake just before the Colorado Trail crosses the road. It was very picturesque with steam coming off of the lake in the morning light. . . but I didn't stop to take a picture, I had a full day of climbing to do. Mt. Sherman and Gemini were the first of 6 peaks I did this day.

I parked somewhere between the first (2wd) and second (4wd) drive lots and started around 6:30 MT (My gps said 730 since its still on pacific time). 2hrs 57 minutes later I was back.

On the approach

Mt. Sherman's Summit

Gemini was a neat little summit.

On top of Gemini

The summit was getting busy when I went by the second time.

Just out of curiosity, how windy was it up on sherman and the ridge over to gemini? My friends and I are planning on doing this hike this upcoming weekend and I was just curious as I've heard stories.

It was not very windy at all. I suppose I might have gotten chilly if I had hung out on top for a while, but I never even put on a jacket.

Good luck!
