We were able to start at the CR 12/856 split.

Most of the road we followed was a sheet of ice. Total spills: Wooderson 2.5 Papillon 0.

No snowshoes required.

After not too much effort, we arrived at Cooney Lake.

And then we sized up Objective #1: Treasurevault Mountain.

Image
The potentially loose talus was frozen and we made quick work of the final 500 vert.

Image
We didn't linger long because we had more booty to plunder. Objective #2: Mosquito Peak.

Looking back at our descent of Treasurevault Mountain.

From a distance, I thought this was going to be a hot dog or burrito stand. I cannot even begin to describe my disappointmen

Looking back at Treasurevault from the summit of Mosquito Peak. Mount Arkansas is in the distance.

Temps and winds were in the teens. The winds were consistent but would really ramp up later in the day.

Objective #3: UN 13,548 ("Repeater Peak").

Nearing the summit...

The winds started picking up. It is about 2 miles one-way to Mount Evans (13,577) from here. I think I'll save it for an

Objective #4: London Mountain. The 900 foot drop to the saddle below was frustrating. Snow + Hidden Talus = Orthopedic Nigh

Potential spice in da house!!!

This may look exciting but there are no difficulties on the ridge. However, if this image can get you laid, feel free to use

The first of what seemed like an infinite number of false summits.

Another falsie. Winds were now a steady eff you 30 mph...

Thanks for the beta.
A man's life in these parts often depends on a mere scrap of information. London's looking good for the weekend.
Way to win the spill race, Wooderson.
Your prize? Modus at the finish line.
Everyone's a winner.

You know what, Pap, sometimes I think you are channeling my husband with stat reports like that. (I should know from my own past experiences after 30 years.) Truly relish success when you can get 4-in-a-day and it's not summertime. Always nice to see a smiling Wooderson. 8) And, yes, I'll chime in with the others on a stellar beer choice. Thanks for posting. Hoppy trails!

There's money to be made in a place like this

I'd go for a burrito up there.

Short and sweet like a hand rolled cigarette, enjoyed while listening to Morricone. Nicely done, Kevin and Sarah.

You're not laughing at my mule, are you?
