Nice variation of the east face! Gotta dig the mando icefall air.
We skied the skiers left exit a few weeks ago.

Shots like your 11th photo can't be overdone.
Nice report, Ben.

Timing?
4/24/2012 6:03am
Regarding your PSA, if I was to hit Dead Dog on Saturday with a skiing descent in mind, based on the conditions your witnessed the other day, what time do you estimate would be best for the ski descent?
Thanks

We dropped into DD between 9:45 & 10:00. We found the snow to be wet, mushy and grabby. You really needed strong legs to power through turns (which I don't have!). I would suggest beginning your descent between 9:00 & 9:15, especially if it is a sunny day with little wind. Other than the timing, you will find that the lower half of DD is very chunky from the sloughs of dozens of skiers/boarders who have done this line this spring. All that said, it is a short day, close to Denver and quite fun.

Nice Write-up

Ben, I always appreciate these reports, thanks for taking the time to do it. Plus it was great to see what you and Brian encountered while I was busy trying not to run over the 50 other people climbing DD!

Any head first glissaders this trip?

Brian must be shooting to out do his Evans ascents with check marks on Torreys. Looks like a great trip, I still think skiing is cheating.

That grill setup is dope...

The only thing missing is a crock of chili and an armada of piss-out-your-ass hot sauces.

Well done again, guys.

Photo #7 is magazine-worthy and looks like another day at the office for your crew.

I look forward to the next writeup, Ben.

Better shape than I guessed...

Nice choice. The E face of Torrey's maybe the best looking line in CO right now. You just planned my Thursday. What a great line. That first 200 feet is quite sporty no?

Appreciate the comments!

Floyd, didn't see any head first glissaders this time, but then again we weren't in Dead Dog for that long .

Caleb, have at it man! It's definitely worth it.

Rick, where were you again?
