 Emerald and Iowa from the Rockdale TH   

Again...this is a website I use to update family and friends on my hiking adventures. I am including a link here due to the fact there are not many reports on this route for this time of year. I used the Rockdale TH. Road clear up to and past the Rockdale turnoff. I was able to ford the two streams on foot without difficulty. Snow did not become an issue until I reached the lake. I wore snowshoes from above the lake until almost 12,500. Scree slope up to Emerald is a bit of a rocky slip and slide. Route over to Iowa is easy. Followed Iowa's west ridge route back to the Lake. Beautiful day up high! A few teaser photos:
