 The Monarch of the Sawatch

Chaos Penumbra and myself climbed Mt. Princeton a couple days ago. I decided it should be called "the monarch of the sawatch" because of it's towering and prominant visage, and the "crown-like" appearance of the east aspect. Not to mention a prince is in line to become a king! These photos should give you a pretty good idea of the current conditions.

I have to say that Princeton wasn't a very memorable climb for me as far as what the mountain had to offer, but that view coming over 285 always gives me chills. It is a remarkable mountain view with those two subpeaks, standing alone. I love just looking at it.

Snow crossings?

How were the snow crossings on the slope? How big were they and did you feel unsafe at all?

Snow crossings were a little bit sketchy due to slope. Maybe 50' one time and 100' the other time. Easier in the morning when the snow is firm. There is a well-worn bootpath but don't slip and slide down! Sorry, no pics of the snow crossings. Should be melting out fast. If you can start early on this one, I would recommend it, it got kind of muddy after noon.
