 Brown's Creek

The trail is in terrible condition. Staggering devastation took place in the valley, and about 1 mile past the falls, fallen trees entirely block the path until shortly before the Brown's lake. You will have about 2 miles of picking through trees. Sticking to the northern side of the valley and trailblazing offers a more passable route. It is easy enough to take as you can easily stay oriented with the creek on your left. The conditions at the lake are phenomenal and well worth it, but if you don't feel like going over and under fallen pine trees and/or bushwacking off trail you should wait until the trail gets cleaned up. The clean up I can't foresee going quickly so continue to check back for trip reports as more backcountry users provide updates.

I have been through many valleys like this at many different times of the year, and I have never seen fallen trees like this. It was truly phenomenal.

Have a great hike!!
