 Meeker, via the Loft

Climbed Meeker yesterday. Snow free early on with the exception of a few short sections as you drop down towards Chasm lake, hard snow but plenty of deep foot steps to make the passage worry free. We climbed lt up the Loft couloir on class three rock low down, possibly up to class 4 higher up,avoiding most of the snow. We hit, snow on the ledges, the snow being rock hard in one area as we exited the ledges, advise avoiding that section at least on the way down if you don't plan on using at least micro spikes, as it slopes (as all good ones do, downward and outward, could make the decent swift). From there on upwards it is pretty much snow free. We came down via the snow in the Loft couloir, to avoid down climbing the class 4 section. The snow softened a little as we descended, but not much. A thin soft layer on top, with rock hard ice beneath the, crampons a must, kicking in steps just with boots, not going to happen. Some of us climbed back on to the rocks lower down, so much faster. New register/ canister on top, thanks Candace. 6hrs up/ 4 hrs down, a good day. Climb on.

This isn't a trip report

I think you didn't read the standard text in the Trip Report that is actually still sitting in your report ”Please do not enter trip reports that are just a few sentences or road/trail head updates. If you would like to post information that is not really a trip report, please use the forum.”

Trip Reports vs. Peak Condition Updates

nilaoire,
It's not that you're wasting our time, but that your report is more of a Peak Condition Update instead of Trip Report. Condition updates can be added here.
