| West Spanish peak - a half day summer bicentennial |
Climbed West Spanish Peak from Cordova Pass. The trail to the base of the ridge was as advertised, a boulevard with a few ups and downs and some great views. The route up the ridge has its moments here and there as it blurrs but it comes back into focus quickly and leads to the summit without route finding issues.
I note that there are almost 14,000 registered users on this site, hence a fair chance that one or more of the dozen vandals that felt the need to leave their marks on this beautiful peak in the form of a sharpie scrawled rock on the summit cairn might read this. If you left your mark, you need to re-climb the peak as I chucked all of the sharpie marked rocks off the north side of the peak . . . Perhaps a re-climb will allow you time to enjoy the peak rather than cheapening the experience for those who follow you.
