Four big Moose - What a treat |
I drove up early from Colorado Springs and left the parking lot at 6:55 am.
As I was starting down the trail, I noticed a number of hikers stopped, looking over at the first lake on the left and taking pictures.
As I came up to where they were I noticed the huge Moose right there at the lake. There was a girl on the trail next to me who told me to look behind us and back up toward the road where there were 3 more!
I have hiked hundreds of miles in Colorado and this is only the 2nd time ever, that I've seen Moose while out hiking. These Moose looked healthy and very big.
I was hoping one of the folks that had a camera (of course I did not) would have posted a picture here.
If you are going up there soon-I hope you are as fortunate as we were.
Perfect morning with very little wind. Willows were starting to change. Fall is on the way.
Storm did start coming in as I got in my car at 11 am. Hope those up on top were safe.
