Great report (love the little trees too). That lifted Jeep with chains was ours, and you must have passed our tent on your way down just about 500 yards down from the trailhead on the right side (spent the night up there on Saturday night). We didn‘t do Lindsey but were up there climbing the ice on the other side of the gully. We did see your Jeep as we passed, and your ski tracks. Nice job on your ascent.

...”Here‘s hoping for a spring ski season that lasts until next fall.”

Guess a Lindsey ski will be for another year, unless it gets dumped on soon

Wow, so little snow on Lindsey. I assume it was the same accross the way on Blanca and Ellingwood? Nice report and blog.

what's wrong with fermented night-soil?

Fresh is better than fermented

B&E looked sort of bleak as well. Ellingwood might go from the summit but one would be threading the needle.

In an ideal world this current storm would bring 40 feet of snow to CO mountains!

Thanks for the comments all.

North Face Ski

Don't count a Lindsey summit ski for this year out just yet. The north face direct line, not shown in this TR, is holding snow. You just need good timing and a moderate spring storm to connect with the top.

Also, Ellingwood looked pretty healthy on the top 100 feet of the ski, which is typically the questionable portion. Couldn't see the lower stuff, but if that top is in it probably goes with some traversing skiers left.

north face of lindsey

you can get a good view of lindsey north face, the ski line, not the northwest face gully which is the standard route, from some road near there, i forgot who sent me some pics a few years back, but they were cool, of course when I went to ski the line the northwest face had way more snow in it than pictured in that photo, but either way sweet tr, love that basin.
