 Skywalker & Arapaho Peaks Traverse

Skywalker couloir is a classic steep snow climb on the south face of South Arapaho Peak in the majestic Indian Peaks Wilderness. I did it back in 2007 and got an invite from Ryan to repeat. This time conditions were great to do the direct finish. Conditions should be good for another week or so, but the snow is melting fast. We then did the traverse between the north and south summits, which makes for a great day of snow climbing and scrambling. For the Star Wars fans out there, I put together a slide show to the Star Wars theme.

Awesome, Alicia. I hope you have good conditions too for an enjoyable climb! Just as a heads up, the route gets late sun and will be bullet proof early. We were on the apron around 7:50am and still had plenty of time before it got too soft. Some of the people who started earlier than us probably wished for a bit softer snow!
