 Early Season Denali Attempt

In early May, Peter, Sarah, Liam & I headed to Alaska to make an early season attempt on Denali. We moved up to 14 Camp in 5 days and then spent a week there during a sustained low pressure system, eventually running out of time and having to descend, but not before making 2 attempts on the summit.

Attached is a link to my site with an account of the Expedition. It is very long and focuses more on the story than route beta or detail. Feel free to just pick a few days to read, or not to read it at all

Denali Report

A huge congrats to Team OMG, who all successfully made the summit. Good for you guys! Thanks to my teammates for a memorable and enjoyable trip.

Here are a few pics...Enjoy!

Your report & pics provided me much entertainment and a very enjorable read yesterday hopping from airport to airport from Florida back home to Vail. As I've said to you before, you guys did a great job up there and made smart decisions. The mountain will always be there. Any big mountain experience, summit or no summit, will make you a better person in every aspect of life. And, wow, making friends with Gerlinde & Ralf. Well, hot damn! Now thats a connection any mountaineer would like to have. Congrats to all of you on a safe and successful Big D attempt.

any attempt on Denali seems like a great experience - summit or not. Great blog too. Liked the Liberty Ridge writeup.

a friend of mine, is on Denali right now. I really enjoyed your report and it is timely to have read it with Ryan on the mountain.
Thanks for sharing.

Nice write-up and photos! It's neat to look back on everything having now been there and see photos. Bummer you didn't get it, but just like we all thought as well, the experience alone is amazing summit or not!
