 Decalibron

Nice September Decalibron loop - conditions were extremely variable. One second it would be blue skies, then next ominous clouds. We considered aborting the loop after Democrat, but chose to push on when we realized how quickly the smaller gray clouds were moving away.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The road to Kite Lake Trailhead is closed 1.8 miles away from the trailhead, not 1 mile as previously reported. If you plan to do the Decalibron, plan accordingly! We ended up hiking just over 11 miles instead of the 7.25 miles as reported (3.6 road hiking miles - actually was a nice warm up before the trail).

There is just a bit of snow on the summits, but not enough to warrant microspikes. Trekking poles recommended for descents due to slippery rocks!
