 Spectacular Day!

Joe, Josh and I were looking for a Spring climb and came across Lackawanna. Josh ditched school and we left Golden area around 5 AM arriving at a turnout on Hwy 82 near the closure gate. We hiked down the road and up the slope to the snow gully and donned crampons. This was to be a short climb and a good start to our climbing season.

The gully is pretty clear and snow was about a week old. Starting up the snow gully.

It's a straight shot up the gully up to the cirque. In the snow gully looking back at Hwy 82.

Our route took us up climbers left after a water break. Joe and Josh before the crux.

A preview to the glissade...40 Degrees...ish.

All three of us kicked steps, Josh for the first time, here, following Joe's kicked steps.

The steepness mellows out once at the ridge to the summit.
