Bison Peak from Ute Creek TH

We had been eying Bison Peak for some time. It looked neat, and was a change of pace from the usual 14er / 13er streak we had been on.

This gem in the Lost Creek Wilderness offers a unique experience without requiring an excessively long drive. I can't vouch for the North end, but it appears Taryall Rd is paved from HWY 24 all the way to the reservoir, which made for a smooth and fast drive to the trailhead.

In short, you should check out this summit. It's easy to get to and it's a lot of fun if you do enjoy rock scrambling, or just hiking in general. It's not Mt. Sherman easy but your efforts will be rewarded. The trail is such that it remains accessible throughout most of the year as well.

This is definitely a peak worth repeating. Love the rock formations near the summit.

Bison Peak is really neat! I hiked it in June and loved looking at all the different formations. It's almost like Stone Henge...but less creepy.

Glad y'all had a great day!
