Another very memorable day traversing in the Gores with a phenomenal crew. There seems to be maybe one Eagle's Nest to Powell report per year, so here's one for 2014 If you decide to check it out, thanks for doing so.
There's the full spirit of the traverse - one side of the range to the other with a good traverse in between. Nice write up. I'm still holding to 5.3, though the moves are more interesting than your typical reach and yard 5.3.
Amazing report! Looks like tons of fun
I am planning a massive gore range traverse for next summer, and am trying to work out the timing. How long did it take you guys from the Summit of Eagles nest to Powell and what was your pace like? I'm researching to see how it would be to continue on to Peak C and some of the other letters.
...appreciate the comment. Not quite sure on the peak to peak time, but we are pretty fast scramblers. I do know it was 12 hours on the dot from our starting trailhead to Piney Lake. I've done all of the ridge from Eagle's Nest to East Partner in sections and have reports on all of these sections. Someday, I'd like to do Eagle's Nest to Buffalo in one fell swoop
Awesome, thanks. Well, if your interested, I have an epic 8 day trip planned out for next summer that tags all of the Gore 13ers, and I need a climbing partner/s for it.
