 Strange happenings on Quandary

Our annual trip to the high country ended with a very satisfying hike of Quandary. We had done Mt. Yale a few days before, and we wanted to bag another before most of our group returned to the lower altitude of Chicago.

Once again, our proud leader, Bill was there wearing his trusty visor. This visor has seen him through many a 14er. We thought it was silly. Here he is on the way up Quandary:

The top of Quandary was windy. The trusty visor was nearly lost by a big gust of wind. It was recovered, and then something strange happened. Suddenly, every one we saw had a identical visor! It must have magical powers because it transformed somber people into joyful, uninhibited souls!

Silly Visor!

I have a woolcap that has been up every 14er I've ever climbed. An old Rockies cap from 2006 has been on the rest since then too! Great way to add some humor to a 14er, but I would never let anyone ever put on my nasty Rockies cap! Ever!
