 Rockinghorse Ridge

Miller & Sarnelli joined me on another piece to the puzzle of the main spine of the Gores this past weekend. Rockinghorse Ridge surely did not disappoint. Fun day trip with high quality scrambling. If you'd like to check it out, I hope you enjoy!

A bit bummed the trip didn't work out with you - looks like good fun and another thing to climb next summer. That ridge looks great and nice photos too, Brandon! I bet the Outpost views in winter are quite worth the effort.

Once again man, you have provided the world with awesome, meaningless beta on some rocks between silverthorne and vail.

Looks like some quality scrambling, can you stave off the snow for a just a couple more weeks? Na, screw it, snow!

Outpost in winter would be pretty neat i bet!

for a ridge scramble in the Gore, there jbchalk. The Rockinghorse was really a Land's End for me back in the day surrounded by all those great unknown Gore Range peaks, valleys and views. Those two notches in the ridge were sort of a surprise preamble to me for the ridge start. And that view of the north face of West Partner Peak stops me in my tracks. I came back later for a route on West Partner Point on the left. Outpost has two quality scrambles, the curving east ride on the left and the direct ridge from West Partner.

Awesome day out there Brando and great write up - as usual. Some of those ridge shots are just gorgerous. I really like the tall shot of Brian hanging on to the class 4 walls. Oh, and ya, Dillon's aspen shots always seem to do the trick.

Bummer about outpost, but sounds like it was the smart decision. We all saw what happens when you push it on the Gores over on R.

Anyways, awesome day guys. Makes me want to get back in there ASAP.

Hub - So very scenic up there. Many thanks

Ryan - Sure missed ya, man. But, totally understandable. You had a Megamaroonal Traverse that day!

Abe - I sure do like those awesome yet meaningless rock formations between Silverthorne & Vail. Yeah, I do sort of think it will be sort of an indian summer thing the next few weeks. I hope so. I like these warm days and cold nights.

Galore - Thanks for the comment. Like you say, those two notches were certainly not expected - a bit of a surprise, yet a fun surprise. Always appreciate your wonderful stories and experiences on these ridges and peaks.

Zambo - Thanks for the comment, man. Right, we definitely saw what happens when you push the weather in the Gores like on Peak S. I don't want a repeat of that summit

It was a great day to be in the hills. Sorry our plans didn't align on this particular day. I tried spying you guys from Keller's summit, but it's a ways over there!
Another great write up as usual Brandon!
