| Overlooked 12ers on the Continental Divide |
These two 12ers just south of Monarch Pass offer a great bang for the buck. This hike was from the pass to Peel Point, 9 miles out and back with 3K vertical climbing if sticking to the ridge, but hiking the ridge above the CDT keeps you above treeline the entire route with opportunity for long time above treeline heading toward Marshall Pass. In the summer it's teeming with mt bikes on the Monarch Crest but in winter its solitude with endless views.
