Hello! I'm a new poster, and I saw the big sign that said your trip report should have relevant information, and I do talk about snow cover along the mountain ridges and general snow conditions, so I hope someone finds it helpful. I also saw while reading through other trip reports that some people just link to another place they write the trip report so I'm going to do that and hope that's kosher. If not let me know and I can take it down. Enjoy!

Thanks for the Snow Info

Thanks for the picture. The snow condition of various 14ers is the most important info for me. I’m ready to start the climbing season, but I’m not ready for snowshoes and crampons. It looks like you didn’t need either. Is this true? Or was there deeper snow on other parts of the climb?

I’m not sure if there is a direct way to respond to you, so I hope I’m doing this right. The deepest snow was the semi–occasional post–hole that would go up to my knee. That was pretty rare though, and most of the deeper snow yesterday was pretty compact and solid. The only times I felt like crampons were nice were to avoid slipping down some of the snowy faces. I think they’d be easily crossable without the microspikes if the person just went real slowly and carefully across them.
