"In a time of universal deceit,
telling the truth is a revolutionary act" - George Orwell

Unnamed 11,460'
McCurdy Park Tower (attempt)
McCurdy Mountain
We ran into Sarah and Jess in the parking lot as we were pulling in to find that they were going for similar peak(s) the following day. Both are very experienced hikers and climbers. They joined us in camp in McCurdy Park in the evening to share the warmth of the fire and cookies and chocolates and stories...
Since I'm quoting George Orwell in this TR, and it's the first one I've written since David Bowie died in January, a musical interlude before the pics continue on Sunday morning. Bowie wanted to create a musical of Orwell's book 1984, but his widow wouldn't give him permission, and the songs for that project ended up becoming Bowie's landmark 1974 album Diamond Dogs.
David Bowie - 1984:
"Not so very long ago no one lived past the age of 40. And we're still not happy with 70. What are we after exactly? There's just too much ego involved. And who wants to drag their old, decaying frame around until they're 90, just to assert their ego? I don't certainly."
Goodbye To Ziggy And All That, October 29, 1977, Melody Maker
"And Los Angeles, that's where it had all happened. The f***ing place should be wiped off the face of the earth. To be anything to do with rock and roll and to go and live in Los Angeles is I think just heading for disaster. It really is."
The Future Isn't What It Used To Be, September 13, 1980, New Musical Express
In keeping with a Lost Creek Wilderness tradition, it's there for you to seek and find it. You can get 11,460' without a rope, but the true summit of McCurdy Park Tower is a tough nut to crack. Go have at it, and thanks for reading...

And always will be. Not sure why it was not great for a while. Nice report! Good on you to get McCurdy Tower. Good to know about the no need for ropes on UN11460. That's a long haul to bring one in.
LCW, I'll get back there eventually. I'm not sure I can handle TR's without snow yet (yes I see it in a few pics, but that's only a smidgen).
So is image #26 for Derek's wife?
This is #10, all done?
