JURY SUMMONS
Courthouse Mountain - 12,152'. Standard Route. 3.6 miles round-trip. 1,800' gain.
It took two years of 14er obsession for me to realize how much I was missing out by avoiding 13ers and 12ers. Silly me! I had a multitude of friends recommend an ascent of Courthouse Mountain, the most prominent peak in the Cimarron Range of Colorado's San Juan Mountains. Being only a short drive from Gunnison, where I attend college, I set out for a climb after a morning genetics lecture. I cannot emphasize how beautiful the Cimarron area is"so many aspens and unique 12ers and 13ers. Certainly a place to check out if you haven't yet and definitely a place I intend to return to.
Here is a link to the full write-up on my blog complete with plenty of photography: Jury Summons
