05/29/2005 - Mount Antero via Baldwin Creek

I did this hike today. I parked at the bottom of the jeep road and walked the extra few miles. It wasnt bad as this is a very scenic road. Unfortunately the "scenicness" was destroyed on the way down by truck after truck and, much worse, ATV after ATV. To each his/her own, but man those things stink and I really dont see the point of driving an ATV up a mountain. Anyway...

There is pretty much no snow to speak of that will cause any travel difficulties. You could climb the snow gully that crosses the road down low up but I think staying on the road is faster.

The views from the top were superb with clouds building to add some contrast to the photos. I liked this mountain and next time I will do it on a weekday or off-season to avoid the moto-climbers.
