Mt. Shavano and Tabeguache Peak - Blank Cabin Trailhead

Mt. Shavano and Tabeguache Peak - Blank Cabin Trailhead

I camped at the trailhead and started my ascent at 4:30am. I was just below tree line at sunrise and I could see the pink and orange reflecting off Mt. Prospects. It was a PERECT hiking day. The right arm of the angel is gone, and the snow wasn't great so I just followed the standard route up the ridge. I was able to summit Shavano at 8:00, no wind or a cloud in the sky. Next I hiked over to Tabeguache. The trail was not very easy to find, and half of Tabeguache was covered in snow.

The 14er season has officially started. On my decent on a "Tuesday" I saw 3 groups of people hiking up, plus a troop of Boy Scouts who looked like they would rather be playing video games.
