Parked at the lot just below the locked gate (Volvo 240, rwd), avoided the snowfields heading up to the saddle. Then stayed to the right on the saddle since there appeared to be a trail (Bad idea, not recommendable! Get on top of the saddle and use the easy trail on the left side heading up...) and made it to the Sherman summit in 2h 16 min just before 8am. Crossed the saddle to summit Sheridan and looped back down to the gate staying away from the snowfields, 6.67 miles total. Great weather, great views, spent less then 20 yards total in the snow.
